Frequently asked questions

How does Cognito create my learning plan?

Cognito uses the topic you enter to generate an organized mixed learning plan. Lessons may include key facts, multiple-choice questions, quizzes, and written-answer exercises. Content is delivered in short sessions so you can make steady progress without a long study block.

Can I add or remove a topic?

Yes. Open the Topics tab to add a new topic or remove an existing one. Removing a topic also removes the locally stored learning content and progress associated with that topic.

Why is the next lesson locked?

Lessons follow a structured order. Complete the current lesson and meet the required passing score for quizzes before continuing. Some additional lesson packs may require watching a rewarded ad to unlock access.

How do rewarded and interstitial ads work?

Rewarded ads are optional and may unlock an additional topic or lesson pack after the free allowance. An interstitial ad may appear after completing a full topic. Ads never mark a lesson complete or bypass its passing requirement.

How do learning notifications work?

You can choose reminder times in Cognito. Notifications invite you back to the relevant lesson or share a short topic-related fact. Notification delivery also depends on your device permission and operating-system settings.

Why is my widget not updating?

The Cognito widget displays a topic-related daily fact. Open Cognito after creating or updating a topic so the latest fact can be prepared, then allow the operating system a little time to refresh the widget. Removing and adding the widget again can also refresh its configuration.

What happens if I miss a day?

Your topics and lesson progress remain available. You can continue from the next available lesson whenever you return. Missing a day may affect your streak, but it does not delete your content.

How can I clear my learning data?

Open Settings, select Clear Learning Data, and confirm the action. This removes generated topics, lessons, and progress from the app and returns you to onboarding. Clearing learning data is separate from deleting your full Cognito account.

How can I request access to or deletion of my account data?

Contact privacy@cognito.app from the email connected to your account. Include "Cognito Data Request" in the subject and state whether you want access, correction, or deletion. We may ask you to verify account ownership before completing the request.

Is AI-generated learning content always accurate?

AI-generated content can occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. Cognito is a learning aid, not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, financial, or academic advice. Review linked sources and consult a qualified professional for important decisions.
